Uganda’s U-18 Baseball Team Secures Historic Qualification for XXI U-18 Baseball World Cup

Uganda’s U-18 baseball team has made history by securing a spot in the XXI U-18 Baseball World Cup, ranking 41st in the world. In a dominant display, Uganda triumphed over Kenya (ranked 54th globally) in a best-of-five playoff series, winning with commanding scores of 24-01, 25-01, and 32-01.

A standout performer in the tournament was Musa Bogere, who delivered an exceptional performance and was honored as the Most Valuable Player (MVP). The tournament was organized by the Baseball Federation of Kenya and the Nakuru County Government, showcasing East Africa’s growing talent in baseball.

With this victory, Uganda joins an elite group of eight nations that have secured their spots in the upcoming world championship. Other qualified teams include Spain and the Netherlands from the U-18 European Championships, while the USA (defending champions), Panama, Mexico, and Venezuela earned their places through the American qualification rounds.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Ugandan baseball, demonstrating the nation’s rising potential on the global stage.
