Who We Are
The Uganda Baseball and Softball Association (UBASA) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting, developing, and expanding the sports of baseball and softball across Uganda. As the official governing body for these sports, UBASA provides young athletes and communities with opportunities to engage in structured training, competitions, and international collaborations. Our goal is to nurture a new generation of baseball and softball players while instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Our Mission
At UBASA, our mission is to create a thriving baseball and softball culture in Uganda by investing in grassroots programs, infrastructure, coaching, and partnerships. We believe that every young athlete should have the opportunity to experience the joy of these sports and develop essential life skills that go beyond the game.
Our Objectives
- Grassroots Development: We introduce baseball and softball at the community level, engaging schools and youth organizations to grow participation.
- Talent Identification and Training: We scout and nurture promising athletes by providing quality coaching, training facilities, and competitive platforms.
- Infrastructure Expansion: UBASA is dedicated to constructing and upgrading baseball and softball fields across Uganda to provide safe and professional playing environments.
- International Partnerships: We collaborate with global baseball and softball organizations to enhance training, access to equipment, and exposure to international competitions.
- National Team Development: Our association supports Uganda’s national baseball and softball teams, ensuring they receive the necessary training and resources to compete on the international stage.
Our Impact
Through our structured programs, UBASA has successfully increased the visibility of baseball and softball in Uganda. We have engaged thousands of young athletes, organized national and regional tournaments, and facilitated Uganda’s participation in international competitions. By fostering a culture of excellence, UBASA continues to be a driving force in shaping the future of baseball and softball in the country.
